and were discussed by the government. The GEM data are also a subject to scientific
analysis and other investigations which are carried out at the Faculty of
Management and published either in the form of monographs or numerous
scientific articles published at home and abroad. Moreover, research results are
presented at domestic and foreign scientific and professional conferences.
Entrepreneurship is a complicated phenomenon. Complex scientific research
of entrepreneurship requires an understanding of theoretical knowledge of its
various aspects. The aim of this monograph is to scientifically present a theoretical
view of inclusive entrepreneurship with an emphasis on three marginal groups of
the entrepreneurial population, namely young entrepreneurs, women and seniors.
Furthermore, the monograpf aims to decribe the theory and empirical studies on
well-being and entrepreneurship, as well as the conceptual model of GEM.
Following these analyses, a further objective is to use the results of three years of
GEM data (2011 – 2013) for Slovakia, to identify the dynamics of entrepreneurial
activity, potential, attitudes, aspirations and the business environment in this
country, and to analyze them in the context of global GEM data and in the
international context and to make appropriate conclusions in relation to the theory
and practice. Also, based on the GEM data, in this monograph we intend to
investigate and present the results of inclusive entrepreneurship in the named three
groups of the population. The subject of empirical research was also the issue of the
well-being of Slovak entrepreneurs and their satisfaction with life, and the
exploration of entrepreneurial activity of employees (EEA or intrapreneurship) in
companies.
The international position of Slovakia from the perspective of
entrepreneurship, was investigated through a comparative analysis on various
levels, comparing with countries that participated in GEM research, namely:

with V5 countries (Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and
Slovenia),
ʹǤ
with Europe,
͵Ǥ
with innovation driven countries (countries whose development is
according to the World Economic Forum based on innovation),
ͶǤ
with the world.
In the next section of this summary, we present a summary of the results of
our research, which are discussed in detail in the chapters of this book.
The dynamics of business in Slovakia and the international context
Entrepreneurship in Slovakia can be still briefly characterized by an above
average entrepreneurial activity within V5, Europe as well as countries which
development is based on innovation, but with a downward trend in the examined
period from 2011 to 2013. The critical fact is, that the high early-stage
entrepreneurial activity in Slovakia is motivated by the necessity to start a business,
which indicates the unsustainability, as well as a lower level of entrepreneurship in
our country. These developments have probably also impact on the declining
